4 Types of Content to Generate Consistent Leads who PAY to Join Your List

Episode 827: Show Notes

What if you could generate consistent paid leads? This episode is dedicated to the specific things you can focus on to do this naturally, seamlessly, and consistently. Before we get started, I want to say that when we talk about bringing in leads, there’s an element I can’t give you. I need you to have self-belief and confidence about what you are putting out into the world.

So often, when we get frustrated by a lack of leads or a lack of sales, it’s rooted in a lack of belief that we can do it. Confidence attracts people like nothing else I can possibly describe. No amount of content or strategy can cover up a lack of confidence. It will always show through and it’s a really big turn-off for people. Let’s get into some of the things I can guide you into doing!

What It Really Means to Have Enough Confidence

There’s a really big difference between having enough experience and having years of experience. It’s not about having 10,000 hours or having a degree in something. No doubt, if you were going to have someone operate on your brain, you would definitely want them to have a degree, but the majority of us are not doing emergency surgery. We can help people from our lived experience without necessarily needing all of this background. You don’t have to be a highly trained professional with years of experience under your belt, you could be someone that your client connects with, relates to, and trusts. That is enough!

Breaking Down the Small Business Infinity Loop

At the end of the day, all small businesses are in a loop. Some of us end up getting stuck in the loop, which makes things very frustrating. But you don’t have to stay there! Imagine the loop as an infinity sign. On the one side, there’s focus. In a space of focus, we want to remove distraction, gain clarity, and simplify. Focus leads into a space of attraction. You are going to save so much time by only attracting the right people. Next we move into selling, where you effortlessly close those deals. But things don’t end there – you want to create something that has deep impact and deep meaning. If you really want to dig into what you are focusing on and simplify and get some clarity, the place to start is Digital Product Jumpstart.

Two Ways to Capitalize on Magnetic Marketing

Regardless of which platform you use to ultimately market your business, there are at least four types of content all designed with a specific purpose in mind. If we want more followers, we need to focus on awareness content. This is based on storytelling and it's meant to focus on your unique value system. I know that my story is not going to resonate with everyone and that’s exactly what I want! Followers are great, but you also need ways to create volume. Trigger content is one way to do that and it is sparked by controversy. If you don’t feel ready to do this, I get it! But if you want to expand impressions and reach, saying something controversial is a surefire way to get it. For example, things you are frustrated by are a perfect starting point to get on a soapbox and create some charged content.

The Dual Purpose of Nurture Content (And How Not to Do Too Much of It)

Nurture content is aimed at people who are already engaged with you to bring them closer to a sale. It shouldn’t take up more than 15 to 20% of your marketing efforts. Reaching new people and ultimately engaging them into a sale needs to be 50 to 75%. One way that nurture content can contribute to this is when you make content that is so powerful that people want to save it. On pretty much any platform, saves are counted as more engagement. For educational content, this often looks like tutorials and how-tos. This podcast is an example of nurture content. The majority of people listening to this podcast just want to listen. They are not going to take immediate action.

How to Leverage the Power of Activation Content

Converting and improving engagement are the two ideal outcomes of my favorite kind of content. In a public place like Instagram reels, activation content is going to motivate people to comment, follow a link, or take the next step. It could also be a sales email designed to give them the information they need; which is the purchase. It’s designed to spark action. This is where you reach people who are already ready to take the leap. I have so much content out there that will help people to get there but unless you are really willing to take a look at how something operates and come back with a simpler plan, you might not be ready! Activation content is aimed at people who are ready to jump; they just need someone to hold their hand. Think about who that is for you? Where do they have to be to be ready to jump?

What You Need to Know to Get Going

You need to know your unique proposition. My unique proposition now is once you’ve developed a product that is going to get you those qualified leads, you need a system that is going to support you on an ongoing basis. For my audience, I needed to showcase the best way to generate leads. While you can always send someone to a lead capture form on your website, that requires that the person is already interested in your services and that’s a hard pitch. A much easier way to get someone to take action is to attract them to you at the stage you need them to be at to be primed and ready for the very next step. So, I developed Digital Product Jumpstart to help people leverage a digital product to bring in a continuous stream of qualified leads and get paid in the process.

Once you develop that offer that’s bringing in those continuous leads, you need an easy system that’s going to allow you to continue to market this on an ongoing evergreen basis, which is why I just announced Instagram Profit Playbook and I am so freaking excited about it! This is really focused on intentional content designed to spark action. There’s a lot of focus on activation content with a sprinkle of all those other things. I’m teaching you to make it very easy for people to take the next step. I walk you through every piece of the puzzle in my Instagram Profit Playbook, and I can’t wait to see you inside!
