5 Ways to 5x the Value of Your Services (Without Increasing Your Time)

When it comes to serving clients, we’re big on making sure you’re providing an exceptional client experience, care, and value through your services. But when you think of the word “services”, what comes to mind? It’s much more than just doing the work that you offer— it also encompasses every aspect of their time with you from onboarding to offboarding.

However, while we think the value of your services is important, we think that saving time where you can is just as important. So, in this blog post, we’ll be breaking down 5 ways to 5x the value of your services without increasing your time!

1) Automate, Automate, Automate

Automation will be your best friend, especially when your client roster continues to grow to the point where you absolutely need to fit in extra time wherever possible. This can look like many different things whether it’s created email templates, keyboard shortcuts, or using Zapier.

Our favorite means of automation when it comes specifically to working with clients is Dubsado’s Workflows feature. You’re able to automate multiple steps of your usual client processes, like:

  • Sending emails

  • Sending invoices

  • Scheduling appointments

  • Creating tasks

  • Sending forms

  • Creating invoices

Combine Workflows with Dubsado’s canned emails, and you’ve just saved yourself hours when it comes to sending the same emails, forms, creating the same tasks, etc. for each of your clients.

2) Create a Client Results Presentation

Create a presentation that you can present to clients at a certain point in your time working together to show them tangible results that you’ve been able to generate for them. You present it halfway, monthly, quarterly, whatever makes sense for how you run your business and what the time span of your usual relationship with a client is.

Doing so shows how much you genuinely care for your clients and achieving the results they wish to see. It also helps to keep them excited about continuing their working relationship with you, and it’s more likely that this extra step to go out of your way to provide them with this presentation will lead to future referrals.

By using our Client Results Presentation Template, you’ll be able to whip this up in no time. All you have to do is gather your data and customize the template quickly in Canva by changing your brand fonts and colors (if you choose), images, and inputting the data. We give you copy prompts and ideas for the purpose of each slide, and you can have it whipped up in no time at all.

Although it’s in presentation format, you don’t necessarily have to take the extra time to hop on a call and present it. That may be best for the extra face time and connection, but you can always download it as a PDF for clients to flip through on their own time.

3) Send a New Client Checklist

It’s important to make sure all yours and your clients’ ducks are in a row before diving into working together. Create a checklist for new clients to send when you’re onboarding them, so they can complete their homework. This checklist should guide them to any important locations, share pertinent information, and give them items to check off as they complete or review them.

We have— you guessed it— a New Client Checklist template made for Dubsado. It’s a questionnaire-form-turned-checklist, and since it’s sent through Dubsado, you’re able to check up on it and see what items your client has checked off. This makes it much easier to follow up because you aren’t blindly checking in on them; you’ll already know the status of their progress.

There are spaces in the template to give them their client portal login information, review the timeline, explain where to submit their assets and how to contact you, and also upload a quick video expressing how excited you are to work with them. We recommend keeping the video short and sweet, no longer than 1-2 minutes, and be sure to use the client’s name. Recording this quick video shouldn’t take very much time out of our day, and it gives an added touch of personalization.

We provide you with the Canva templates to go along with the Dubsado form template, so you can edit the branding of the section headings, header and footer images, and other graphic elements. And because you can edit the section headings, you’re able to add any sections that make sense for your business.

4) Provide Them a Client Portal

Give your clients a central hub where they can access all necessary information about their project and you! We personally prefer Dubsado’s client portal because clients get their own login and are able to view things like:

  • Outstanding emails, invoices, or forms

  • All email communication they’ve had with you

  • All forms you’ve added to their portal (questionnaires, contracts, proposals)

  • Their invoice(s)

  • Upcoming appointments

  • PDFs or one-off links you’ve added to the portal

  • Your contact information

  • The contact info you have on file for them + the ability to edit it

Not only that but you can also edit the portal to match your branding, so it really becomes a piece of your business. By using the Workflows feature we mentioned earlier, you can even automate when the portal is activated or deactivated (usually once the client has paid their invoice).

Dubsado gives you a link you can share with your clients, or you can use the embed code to add it to a page of your website if you have one. It’s so simple to set up, yet will add loads of value to your overall client experience and services.

5) Send a Thank You Card After Offboarding

And last but certainly not least, send clients a thank you card once you’ve finished working with them. If you can add a handwritten note to it as well and mail a physical card, that would be even more meaningful. Express how grateful you are for the opportunity to have worked with them, how much fun you had, and wish them well on their future endeavors.

A thank you card is a nice personal touch you can add to wow your clients, and it also serves as another push to refer you to others in their network. When you use our Printable Collateral Templates, you could even edit the thank you and welcome cards to serve as a check-in card or celebratory card of some sort.

Let clients know you’re thinking of them 3-6 months after the working relationship has ended. They may just come back for more work, send you someone that needs your help, or it could be a reminder to leave you a rocking testimonial. You could keep a stack of general cards handy, then just take 5 minutes out of your day to write a quick, thoughtful note to then pop in the mail.

Little Effort Can Yield High Results

These actions and pieces of your process that you can add to your client experience take so little time to get set up, yet they can greatly increase the value of your services! As you take on more and more clients, refine your process, and get to know what sort of things make them the happiest, you’ll be able to sell your services completely based on the experience and value you provide.
