15 Ways You Could be Using Canva Right Now

Whenever we need to create quick graphics, Canva is always our go-to. The user-friendly interface and intuitive builder makes it ridiculously easy to create graphics for practically anything we need. It’s the perfect graphic design tool for business owners looking to create marketing assets themselves because anyone can use it, no matter if you have little to no graphic design experience or you’re an award-winning designer. (Our in-house designer for Boss Project, for example, still uses Canva for many of our graphics.)

But what would you actually use Canva for? Anything, really! In fact, we can think of at least 15 ways you could be using Canva right now, which we’ll cover in this blog post.

1.Square Shareable Graphics

Our favorite kind of graphics to post on social media are shareable. The proof is in the pudding! Shareable graphics encourage followers to share and engage with the content, boosting it up Instagram’s algorithm for more eyes to see and possibly follow (and even buy). We post shareable graphics often on Instagram if you want to see some examples.

2. Story Graphics

Don’t forget about graphics for your Facebook or Instagram Stories! Canva makes it super simple to create beautiful Story graphics for a launch, sales sequence, inspirational quotes, informational graphics, shareables, and more.

3. Story Stickers

Just like you can design Story graphics, you can also create GIF stickers to add to your Instagram Stories. All you have to do is design a few different pages of a graphic to represent the animation you want your GIF to show, download those images, and then upload to a GIF maker. From there, send to your phone and just copy the image to paste to your Stories. (But if all that sounds confusing, you can just grab our sticker templates and follow the video instructions included!)

4. Email Graphics/Headers

Personally, we love the layouts that come with Flodesk, but if you don’t use an email marketing service like that which makes it easy for you to add beautiful designs to your emails, you can use Canva to create them yourself. You can grab our email header templates so that all you have to do is change the text, photos, and branding.

5. Email Signature

Design a beautiful email signature to make your emails pop and keep your branding consistent even in your email communication. This can be an awesome touch of professionalism when communicating with potential clients.

6. Blog Graphics

Blog footers and sidebar graphics are amazing for driving traffic elsewhere once they visit your blog. If you look around on this blog page right now, you’ll see Canva-designed graphics on the right, and these help drive traffic to even more of our resources and courses.

7. Client Guides

Whether it’s a welcome packet, portfolio, proposal, etc., you can easily design beautiful PDF documents to send to your clients. (You guessed it, we have templates for those things, too.)

8. Pinterest Graphics

Of course, you can easily make Pins with Canva, too! Head over here for Pin graphics that were designed with Pinterest SEO in mind.

9. Freebies/Opt-ins

Want to create a workbook or worksheet freebie to incentivize email list sign-ups? Create it in Canva! Any sort of guide or, really, whatever freebie you need to design graphics for can be done in Canva.

10. E-Books

On the same note, you can create ebooks in Canva, too. This makes it simple to add imagery or other design elements to make your ebook stand out and captivate the reader's attention.

11. Brand Kit

Canva already has a brand kit feature for Pro users where you can upload all of your colors, fonts, and logos to store for easy use when designing graphics, but you can also use it to design a PDF brand kit to keep safe.

12. Vision Board/Mood Board

We believe there’s a special power in making your goals visible, which is why we love vision boards so much. You can make a collage of inspirational quotes and images that motivate you to reach your goals. A similar collage will also work for a mood board when trying to piece together what you want your brand to represent.

13. Digital Planner

Ever wanted the perfect planner but found it difficult to find one that catered to your individual needs? Why not just create your own? You can use it as a digital planner, or even print it out and put it in a binder of some sort if you prefer pen-to-paper.

14. Brand Collateral

Not only can you design all of your brand collateral, like business cards, flyers, thank you cards, etc., but Canva also has a service that will create and send you the collateral as well.

15. Presentations

You can easily create presentations and even add animations like you would in Keynote or PowerPoint. Canva also allows you to present and record from right within the tool.
